What is MissionLab?
Who is it for?
MissionLab is for students 7th through 12th grade.
What is it like?
If you took a typical DiscipleNow weekend and a mission trip and put them in a blender, you'd get something like MissionLab! Each day, there are various ministry partners that we will work with within the city of New Orleans. One day, we may be working in a food pantry and the next we may be helping paint a school. At various times throughout the week, there will be worship times combining a speaker and worship band. For the week of our trip, the speaker is Josh Holland and the band is GraceWell. When it comes to providing biblical teaching and mission experience, there is nothing better than MissionLab.
Why should I go?
A student mission trip like MissionLab is an awesome opportunity to grow spiritually. If you were to ask Bro. Tyler, our Director of Missions, what his most formative moments were growing up, he would tell you it was going on associational mission trips as a student. Getting to experience life on mission in a city like New Orleans is something that will change your life. Experiencing how God can use you to serve others in practical ways leads you to see the world with new eyes. Through MissionLab, you learn about missions, you do missions, and you learn what it means to live on mission after you return home. You can read more testimonials at the MissionLab website.
How much does it cost?
The cost of the trip is $199 for all participants (chaperones also), which includes housing, meals, and transportation to New Orleans. For a week long mission trip, that is an incredibly low amount. The Chilton Baptist Association covers some of the expense from our budget to help keep the cost as low as possible.

How will you travel to New Orleans?

Isn't New Orleans dangerous? Will my student be safe?
We take the security and safety of your children incredibly serious. Every adult chaperone will undergo a background check. MissionLab housing is on the campus of New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. The seminary campus is very secure with 24/7 security and a fence around the perimeter of the campus.
