Resource of the Week: Derek Allen on His Vision for Alabama Baptists

Each week I share one resource I can personally vouch for. This week it is a video interview: Derek Allen Named Incoming ALSBOM Executive Director, from TAB Media Group, with Jennifer Rash interviewing Derek Allen, pastor of First Baptist Church Tillman’s Corner in Mobile.

Allen was elected August 11 by the trustees of the Alabama Baptist State Board of Missions. He serves as executive director-elect and shadows Rick Lance through the transition, then takes office February 1, 2027, when Lance retires. In the interview he talks about listening first, strengthening local churches, reaching the places in our state where someone still cannot easily find a gospel-preaching church, and caring for rural and bivocational pastors.
