Resource: The Rural Pastor

Rural ministry carries its own pressures: isolation, questions of vocational identity, limited resources, and at times a creeping sense of hopelessness. Most ministry resources are written with a larger, suburban church in mind.

The Rural Pastor is a podcast and resource site from Andy Addis, the North American Mission Board’s Director of Rural Strategies and a lead pastor of a rural multisite church in Kansas. It is built for anyone serving a rural church, whether volunteer, bivocational or full time. Alongside the podcast, the site offers a free book, Doing More Together, and a directory of resources for rural congregations.

From Bro. Tyler, our Associational Mission Strategist:

Not many resources focus on rural ministry. This one is excellent, and the host understands the unique context of rural ministry.
