Deacon Ordination Recommendations
Several times over the last few years, one of our churches has reached out with a question we are always glad to hear: “We have some new deacon candidates, and it has been a while since our last ordination service. Can you give us some guidance?” We created this resource for exactly that moment. It walks a church through the biblical foundation for ordination, how to convene an ordaining council (with recommended questions), and a sample order of service.
The guide is free to download, print, and share with your pastor, deacons, and ordaining council. If your church is preparing for an ordination and would like help convening a council or finding ordained deacons and ministers from sister churches, the association is glad to help.
