CBA Weekly: Camp Fruit, Tonight’s Training, and Stronger Together
A Word to Start
Friends, I am still tired from Kids Camp! But I’m also still rejoicing in the cooperation and fruitfulness from that week. 172 kids from 17 CBA churches spent the week at camp, cared for by 40 volunteer counselors and leaders, and several of those kids trusted Jesus. Every one of those decisions is now in the hands of a local church for follow-up, which is exactly how it should be. Thank you to every church that sent kids, sent leaders, sent snacks, or quietly paid the way for a child who could not have gone otherwise. That is what an association of churches is for.
Tonight: Who’s Your One?
There is still time to join us tonight for the Evangelism Training: Who’s Your One? from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at First Baptist Church Clanton (Fellowship Hall). Practical training to help every believer share the gospel with the people already in their life, part of the Celebration 250 initiative. No registration needed, just come. Open to everyone.
Stronger Together: A Day for Your Marriage
Take a minute to watch this, then grab your spouse and sign up. Saturday, August 15, 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM at West End Baptist Church. Clay Cox (Dry Bar comedian) will keep you laughing, and Cliff and Toma Knight of Lakeview Baptist in Auburn will give you real tools for a stronger marriage. $50 per couple, lunch included.
Around the Association: Bivocational Pastors Breakfast
Saturday morning, bivocational pastors and staff from across the association filled a long table at Farmhouse Cafe for breakfast and brotherhood. These are men who carry a church and a job at the same time, and I have walked that road myself in the past, so this gathering is close to my heart. Pray for these brothers, and if you see one this week, thank him. Pray for our CBA Leadership as we aim to more strategically support bivocational pastors in their work.
United in Prayer
Would you take one 15-minute slot a day to cover Chilton County in prayer? Our churches are stronger when we pray together. Sign up for a daily prayer time through the Pray 4 Chilton campaign.
Prayer Focus
- Kids Camp follow-up. Pray for the children who trusted Jesus at camp, and for the churches now walking with them and their families.
- Evangelism in Chilton County. Pray for those gathering tonight for the Who’s Your One? training, and for the one person each of us is praying toward Christ.
- A new school year. Students, teachers, bus drivers, and coaches head back this month. Pray for the churches ready to welcome families into fall ministry.
