CBA Weekly: Thank You, Chilton County
October is Pastor Appreciation Month. Most of the men who shepherd the churches of Chilton County carry more than anyone sees, and many of them do it while working another job all week. This month, find one way to tell your pastor that his labor in the Lord is not in vain.
Thank You for Celebration 250
On Thursday, October 1, about 150 people from at least eleven churches gathered at the Chilton County High School Auditorium to worship together and hear Rob Jackson preach the gospel, and several came forward for prayer. It happened on a night when football games moved and the weather was on its way, and people came anyway. Thank you to Shawn Lowery for leading the effort, to Thorsby First Baptist for leading us in worship, to the pastors and counselors who served, and to every church that gave its Wednesday night to prayer.
Keep praying for those who came forward, and for the one person you invited. The invitation does not expire.
What God Is Doing
Gospel-Centered Communication. For eight Tuesday nights, a room full of Sunday School teachers, deacons, pastors, and church members has been learning to teach any passage of Scripture so that it points to Jesus. Last Tuesday the first seven students presented, each tracing a passage of the Old Testament to Christ: the ram caught in the thicket in Genesis 22, the manna in the wilderness and the true bread from heaven, Samson’s broken vows and the Savior who prayed “Father, forgive them,” and the mercy seat on the Ark of the Covenant, where God looks at the blood instead of our failure. Tonight the rest of the class presents and the term ends. Pray for them as they carry what they have learned back to their classes and small groups.
United in Prayer
Pray 4 Chilton continues to cover the county in prayer, fifteen minutes at a time. Sign up for a daily slot.

- Pastors and their families. Pray for the pastors of Chilton County this month, for rest, for joy in the work, and for their wives and children.

Grow With CBA (Open to Everyone)
The Gospels begins October 20. For eight Tuesday nights, October 20 through December 8, the Ministry Training Institute will study Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. The textbook is Introducing Jesus by Mark Strauss.
The class meets 6:00 to 9:00 PM at the CBA office, or online from home. The cost is $50 plus the book. These classes are for every believer who wants to know and teach the Bible better: Sunday School teachers, small group leaders, deacons, and anyone who simply wants to grow. If you have taken a class before, bring someone from your church with you this time.
