CBA Weekly: Will Your Church Be There on October 1?
Celebration 250 Is Three Weeks Out
On Thursday, October 1, churches from across Chilton County will gather in one room at the Chilton County High School Auditorium at 6:30 PM, and Rob Jackson will preach. One county, one night, one gospel.
Pastors, a word from you carries this further than anything the association can send. If you would put October 1 in front of your church and plan to come together, that is what will fill the room. For everyone else the ask is simpler. Start praying now, and start thinking about who you will bring with you.
Put Wednesday, September 30 on your calendar as well. That is the county-wide prayer night, when our churches pray together the evening before we gather. Event details are here.
United in Prayer
Pray 4 Chilton continues to cover our county in prayer, fifteen minutes at a time. Sign up for a daily slot.
Prayer Focus
- Week of Prayer for State Missions, September 13 through 20. Alabama Baptists set this week aside to pray for God to move across our state and to give to the Myers-Mallory State Missions Offering.
- Churches seeking pastors and staff. Pray for the search committees doing patient work and for the men God is preparing.
- The MTI classroom. Pray for the students working through Gospel-Centered Communication on Tuesday nights, and for what they carry back to their churches.
This Week & Upcoming
- MTI: Gospel-Centered Communication, Tuesdays September 8 and 15, 6:00 to 9:00 PM
- GriefShare, Wednesdays September 9 and 16, 10:00 AM
- Lunch & Learn: Pickleball, Cornhole, and Fellowship, Monday September 14, 11:00 AM at Liberty Hill Baptist Church
Full calendar at chiltonbaptist.online/events.
Church of the Week
This week we lift up Faith Baptist Church, pastored by Gary Jones. Please pray for Bro. Gary and the Faith Baptist family as they carry the gospel to their neighbors.
Grow With CBA (Open to Everyone)
Ministry Training Institute classes meet Tuesdays, 6:00 to 9:00 PM. Fall Term B, The Gospels, begins October 20 and registration is open now through Samford. These classes are for every believer who wants to grow, not just pastors and staff.
The Church Health Check-Up course is free and available anytime at chiltonbaptist.online/courses.
Resource of the Week
Finding Volunteers to Lead Key Areas of Your Church Ministry, an episode of the Lead On Podcast with Jeff Iorg, president of the SBC Executive Committee.
One of the most common issues in church is a lack of volunteers. Every pastor feels it and knows it. There is often more work to be done and fewer people to do it, and that pressure is an ongoing issue in the life of many churches. Dr. Iorg provides helpful insights from his own experience as you think through how to develop leaders in your church.
From Our Partners at the State Board (ALSBOM)
These are hosted by the Alabama State Board of Missions, not CBA, and they are open to our churches.
- Week of Prayer for State Missions and the Myers-Mallory Offering, September 13 through 20
- Intentional Leader Series: Pathfinder, Tuesday September 15, 9:00 AM, State Board of Missions, Prattville
For Pastors & Ministry Leaders
The September Lunch & Learn is a different kind of gathering: no speaker, just pickleball, cornhole, lunch, and unhurried fellowship at Liberty Hill Baptist Church on Monday, September 14 at 11:00 AM. Come ready to play or just come to eat. Lunch is provided. Please RSVP by noon on Friday, September 11 so we can plan for lunch: call the office at (205) 755-3188 or email [email protected].
Ministry Openings
- Bi-Vocational Worship Minister, Mt. Carmel #1 Baptist Church, part-time, 8 to 12 hours per week

Announcements
- Christmas Backpacks. The association has committed to provide 492 backpacks for two church plant partners, one in Chilton County and one in Lowndes County. There is no sign-up; churches and individuals simply collect what they can. Last year this effort served 15,255 children statewide and saw 558 professions of faith.
- Myrtle Littleton Memorial Offering. Give through your church, send a designated check to the CBA office, or give at chiltonbaptist.online/give.
A reply to this email will not reach the CBA office. To get in touch, write us at [email protected] or visit chiltonbaptist.online/contact.
